Leaked: Sony Xperia S and SL to get firmware update
Sony Xperia S and SL are getting a new firmware update to remove bugs from 1080p video recording and offers improved performance.
According to leaked screenshots, Sony is working on a new firmware update for its Xperia S and Xperia SL smartphones. The update is expected to work on the volume and HD video recording bugs and will offer performance improvements.
Sony had released an update on the Xperia S and SL in May, build number 6.2.B.1.96 but many users experienced some issues with their devices after the update. Now according to leaks on the Xperia Blog, a new 6.20B.1.96 build based on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS is expected to be released by the end of the month. Apart from fixing bugs the new firmware also launches Google Now with a long press on the Home key.
The Sony Xperia SL is the successor to the Sony Xperia S launched last year. The main difference between the devices is that the Sony Xperia SL was powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core processor instead of the 1.5GHz processor on the Xperia S, and came with Android ICS out-of the box rather than Gingerbread.
