Leaked HTC Bolt press renders suggest no headphone jack

Leaked HTC Bolt press renders suggest no headphone jack
HIGHLIGHTS

The HTC Bolt looks similar to the HTC 10, except for the fact that the rear flash has a new position and the headphones jack has gone missing

It looks like HTC is getting rid of the headphones jack on its upcoming smartphone. Christened the Bolt, the smartphone looks like the HTC 10 with a few differences. The rear flash on the smartphone has been repositioned along with the position of the front facing camera, and yes, the HTC Bolt gets rid of the headphones jack and will rely on USB-C for audio.

We have seen smartphone makers like LeEco and Apple do the same with the Le 2, Le Max 2 and the iPhone 7 & 7 Plus respectively. Lenovo has also taken the same rout and rid itself of the headphones jack in the Moto Z and Moto Z Force. Lenovo is expected to launch the Moto Z and the Moto Z force in India next month.

The race to rid smartphones of the headphones jack seems to be the next big thing in smartphone tech. What this means is that you will be spending a considerable amount of money on new headphones and backup 3.5mm adapters to use with your old headphones. Below is a quick look at the HTC 10 and HTC Bolt side by side.
