Most of the details about the upcoming Moto Z3 Play have been outed thanks to the internal document obtained by XDA Developers. The leaked document reveals the hardware specs of the third-generation modular smartphone ahead of its launch. The Z3 Play will rock a 6-inch 18:9 FullHD+ AMOLED panel with 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass on top. The phone will also come in an aluminium body.
Under the hood, the Z3 Play will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM. The phone will be offered in two memory variants — 32GB and 64GB. Quite expectedly, th storage can be expanded via a microSD card.
The Moto Z3 Play will also come with three cameras on the body. A dual camera module at the back with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and an 8-megapixel shooter up front. The phone will offer portrait mode both on the front and back cameras. Other older Moto camera features like cinemagraphs, filters, spot colour (which turns the entire photo into black and white save for the subject) and can scan texts.
The upcoming phone will have a 3,000mAh battery which might be cause for some disappointment. However, that indicates the Z3 Play will be made quite slim. Furthermore, its modular capability might allow for expanding the battery life of the phone.
There is also going to some change in the way the Moto Z3 Play will be offered to buyers. It will be offered in four bundles — Power, Style, Gamepad and Projection. As the name suggests, the last two will come bundled with gamepad and a projector. The Power offering will bundle a Moto Battery Mod while the Style offering will have a style shell.
