One in three Indian would give up their TV but not their smartphone.
Indians are the most addicted to their smartphones, according to a recent survey conducted by Germany-based B2X Care Solutions.
The report says that nearly 57% of Indians admitted they cannot live without their smartphones, making them the most addicted users globally. One out of three Indians stated that they could give up their TV for a week but not their smartphones. In US, 98% of the participants in the age group of 16-29 sleep with their smartphones and 13% would not give up their smartphone for a week even if they were paid $500.
In Brazil, 63% users said they spend at least three hours on their smartphones a day, making them the heaviest device users. Germans were the least addicted to their smartphones, but nearly 58% of them stated that they keep their phones on their body or within reach at all times during the day. 84% of the respondents claimed that they want the most technically advanced model when purchasing a new device.
According to the survey the Chinese spend the most money on their smartphones. Nearly 80% of the users stated that they own two or more smartphones and tend to replace it within an year. 1 in 2 Chinese stated that they would give up their TV for a week before their smartphone.
Americans tend to be the most satisfied with their repair process while Brazilians are the least satisfied. "In America and China, most consumers wait less than 24 hours to have their smartphone repaired while in Brazil, India and Germany it takes almost 8 days for the same repair," the survey found.
The survey polled more than 2,500 smartphone and tablet users from the top five smartphone regions globally, including the US, Germany, Brazil, India and China. The survey was conducted over smartphone users in the age group of 16 to 65 years and personally owned their devices. There were 535 from Germany, 518 respondents from the US, 515 from China, 507 from India and 503 from Brazil.
