Huawei has launched its flagship, the P9 in India at Rs. 39,999 and it will be available exclusively via Flipkart from 3:00 pm today, followed by Croma and Poorvika. The new phone sports a metal body and a 5.2-inch Full HD display. Powering the device is the company’s own Kirin 955 octa-core SoC with four Cortex A72 cores clocked at 2.5GHz and four Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. The device also sports 3GB of RAM and 32Gb of storage. However, the highlight of the Huawei P9 is its rear camera. The phone sports 12MP dual-rear cameras, which have been made in collaboration with German camera and optics manufacturer, Leica. At the front of the phone is an 8MP camera. Besides the camera, the Huawei P9 also sports a 3000mAh battery and runs the company’s EMUI 4.1, which is based on Android Marshmallow v6.0. Further, the phone is equpped with a fingerprint sensor and a USB Type-C port. Sunil Sethi, President of FDCI also said that the Huawei P9 would be the official phone of the Amazon India Fashion Week. The compnay also announced a stainless steel variant of the Huawei Watch, priced at R. 22,999 and revealed that the MateBook 2-in-1 will launch in India soon.

Huawei had unveiled the P9 alongside the P9 Plus back in April this year. The P9 Plus sports specifications similar to the standard P9, but features a slightly larger 5.5-inch display and 3400mAh battery. It is not known if or when the company would launch the P9 Plus in India. There is also a Huawei P9 Lite which sports the same display as the P9, but is powered by a Kirin 650 SoC and sports a single 13MP rear camera.
