The Taiwanese company teased the launch of a smartphone with a waterdrop notch in 2019 in the last five seconds of the video. Now it is confirmed that the teased smartphone is the HTC Wildfire X.

According to the sale page, the HTC Wildfire X features a 6.22-inch display at 1520 x 720 pixels with a waterdrop notch. It is powered by the Helio P22 chipset, paired with up to 4GB RAM. The smartphone comes in two storage variants: 32GB and 128GB. It packs a 3,300mAh battery, and runs on Android 9 Pie.

On the optics front, it features a triple rear camera setup: 12MP main camera + 8MP lens with 2X Optical Zoom + a 5MP depth sensor. On the front, the smartphone features an 8MP camera housed in the waterdrop notch. The rear camera comes with features like Professional Mode, Face Beauty, HDR, and more.

The HTC Wildfire X also adds the “Mybuddy” feature, which people can use their smartphone as a personal security tool. The feature allows users to pull out the device from the shell to trigger a loud alarm, send live location information to friends and family, and record and transmit audio/video of surroundings in real time.

HTC is also offering a six months no-questions-asked accidental and liquid damage protection plan, and complimentary pickup and drop facility. The standard 1 year warranty runs concurrently.
