HTC releases guide that shows how Android updates come to smartphones
HIGHLIGHTS

HTC has launched a web page which shows a detailed look at how an Android OS upgrade is processed and the lengthy and rigid process the new update does through for a phone.

When a new Android OS update is announced, it usually takes a couple of months before smartphone manufacturers start pushing the update to all of their smartphones. Consumers usually crib about the delays and complain to the manufacturers for being slow.

HTC has finally decided to respond to all the criticism and has launched a web page which shows the detailed process of how a newly announced Android update is handled, churned and finally pushed out to the consumers. HTC has shown the process with respect to its flagship device, the HTC One, and how the update for all different versions of the device is treated before it reaches the end-user. The process basically involves five steps. First is the Evaluation stage which goes on to the Development and Integration stages then it passes the Certification stage and finally to the Push to Consumer stage where users start receiving the new update. The page also gives an update about the status of all the recent HTC devices and what latest update is available on them.

For those who want to go through the whole lengthy process, check out the info-graph below.
