HTC has already sent press invites for its March 1 event, where it is expected to launch its latest flagship smartphone, the HTC One M9, and a new variant, the One M9 Plus. Now, the specs of both smartphones have been leaked in Compubench benchmark results, ahead of the launch.
According to the benchmark results, both the smartphones will come with identical 20 MP rear cameras. The One M9 will feature a 12MP selfie camera that records 2160p video, while the One M9 Plus will record videos at 2048 x 1536 pixels.
Rumors had suggested that the HTC One M9 Plus may feature a larger screen, but the benchmark has detailed a 5.1 inch QHD display on the smartphone. The One M9 Plus will have an octa-core MediaTek MT6795 chipset paired with 3GB of RAM.
The flagship One M9 will have a 5 inch 1080p display. It will have a quad-core Snapdragon 810 processor, with 3GB RAM. Both the devices will have 32 GB inbuilt storage, of which 23 GB will be available to users and will run on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. Connectivity options included in the devices will be GPS, NFC, WiFi, microUSB and Bluetooth support. Both the devices will feature a range of sensors including accelerometer, compass, light, gyroscope and proximity. The M9 One will come with an additional Barometer sensors.
Apart from HTC, rival Samsung is also expected to launch its next flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S6, along with a new variant, the Galaxy S6 Edge, on March 1 at the Samsung Unpacked event. Recently the South Korean giant hinted that the device may come with wireless charging.
