Huawei’s Honor brand has launched its new flagship smartphone, the Honor 8 in India. Priced at Rs. 29,999, the phone features a dual-rear camera camera setup, similar to the one found on the Huawei P9. The device will be on sale on the company's own website, HiHonor and Flipkart from tomorrow onwards.

As mentioned earlier, the highlight of the Honor 8 however is the dual-rear camera setup that consists of two 12MP Sony IMX286 sensors. One of the sensors takes in colour data, while the other takes in black/white data as well as details. The two image are then stitched together to create a single image. The phone offers a bokeh mode, image refocus, and long exposure mode which the company calls Light Painting.

The smartphone features a 5.2-inch Full HD display and is powered by a 2.3Ghz octa-core Kirin 950 SoC with 4GB of RAM. The phone is equipped with a 3000mAH battery and offers 32GB of onboard storage that can be expanded by up to 128GB via a microSD card. The phone runs on Android Marshmallow v6.0 with EMUI 4.1 layered over it.

The phone also comes with a Smart Key button in which the fingerprint scanner located on the back of the phone also doubles as a button. This button can be assigned a function such as opening an app or turning on the torch.

Besides the Honor 8, the company also unveiled the Honor 8 Smart and the Honor Holly 3 smartphones in India. The phones are priced at Rs. 19,999 and Rs. 9,999 respectively.
