HOMTOM debuts in India with three budget smartphones
The new smartphones start at Rs 7,499 and come with dual cameras and budget specs.
There’s a new mobile brand in town and it’s called HOMTOM. The brand from China launched three new smartphones in India on Friday all priced in the sub-Rs 10,000 segment. The devices are named H1, H3 and H5 which are priced at Rs 7,499, Rs 9,990 and Rs 10,990 respectively. According to IANS, the new brand is looking at a market share of three to five percent in the first six month.
The HOMTOM H1 comes equipped with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage with a 5.5-inch HD display on top. There’s a 3,000mAh battery. On the other hand, the H3 touts a 5.5-inch HD+ In-Cell display and is powered by a MediaTek chipset clocked at 1.3GHz coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. There’s a 3,500mAh battery.
Both the H1 and the H3 have dual 13+2MP cameras at the back and an 8MP front camera with face unlock. HOMOTOM plans to manufacture its phones in India.
The H5 is the most powerful among the three and sports a 5.7-inch HD+ In-Cell display along with a 16+2MP camera with 3,300mAH fast-charging battery. It has dual SIM support and has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of stroage. All the phones run on Android 8.1.
