Google had made Android Oreo official last week and at the launch, the company had said that the final Oreo update will be made available in a few days. The company further announced that Oreo will be made available to supported Nexus and Pixel devices via OTA, in a span of few days. True to its promise, Google has started releasing the stable build of Android O for select Pixel and Nexus devices.

At the time Oreo was launched, the factory images available were only meant for developers. In order to experience Oreo, Pixel and Nexus users needed to either flash the Oreo’s final developer build manually or enroll in the Android Beta program to receive the (still under progress) OTA. Now, the factory images listing on Google’s developers’ site shows the Nexus and Pixel factory images on their respective pages, and Google has also made the OTA update files available for side-loading.

Android Oreo brings a slew of new features such as Notification Dots, support for Autofill APIs, Picture in Picture (PiP) mode, adaptive icons, Google Play Protect, high fidelity audio playback with new Bluetooth codecs, wide-color gamut support across apps and faster boot times.

Android Oreo is being rolled out in a phased manner and users can expect the update in a couple of days. Since the launch of Android Oreo, many smartphone makers, such as Samsung, LG, HTC, OnePlus and more have already announced the Oreo update for their select devices.
