Google is now pushing an update for Pixel and Pixel XL owners in Canada that brings double-tap and raise-to-wake features

Google Pixel and Pixel XL are undoubtedly the best Android smartphones one can buy right now. The first 'Made By Google' smartphones brings tight integration between the hardware and software but it also lacked few features like double-tap to wake and raise-to-wake features at the time of launch. Google is now bringing those feature via OTA update.

Google is now pushing an update for Pixel and Pixel XL owners in Canada that brings double-tap and raise-to-wake features. With the new update, users can double tap the screen to see alerts or notifications and display will turn on as soon as you raise the device. The feature was one of the highlights with Apple's iOS 10 early this year and its availability on Pixel series is a nice thing to have.

These features already existed on previous Nexus devices like Nexus 6P in one or the other form. However, it is unclear when Google intends to bring the features to Pixel owners internationally. Considering Google's track record, the update should arrive really soon.

The new feature can be activated by heading over to the 'Moves' section in the general settings panel. There one can find 'Double-tap to check phone' and 'Lift to check ohone' option. The captured image of the ROM running to Canadians versions is also available but it would be advisable to wait for the official update from Google.

Google is pitching Pixel and Pixel XL as the perfect Android smartphone. The device is branded as the perfect replacement for those holding on to iPhone. With the new features, Google Pixel and Pixel XL's new features are really a great value addition.
