Galaxy S25 series is fine, but did you notice Samsung’s tri-fold smartphone at Galaxy Unpacked?

South Korean tech giant Samsung hosted its Galaxy Unpacked 2025 Event last night. During the event, it unveiled three smartphones- Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. Along with that, the company also hinted at the upcoming S25 Edge. But that’s not all. If you were clever enough, you must have spotted another hidden device that has been long rumoured at this point. I am talking about Samsung’s tri-fold smartphone. Before concluding the event, the company showed outlined renders of a couple of devices, which also included a tri-fold smartphone.

Even during the event, Jay Kim, Samsung’s Head of Customer Experiences, briefly mentioned the term “multi-fold.” This also hinted at the fact that Samsung is currently working on a tri-fold device and it can soon come to the market. However, Samsung did not share any other information regarding the device’s launch timeline or even name.

Samsung Display, the tech giant’s display division, has previously showcased tri-fold prototypes at events like CES, with two design concepts: an inward-folding model and a dual-folding variant, similar to the Huawei Mate X series. But what design Samsung will pick up for its tri-fold still remains a mystery.

Rumours suggest that Samsung’s tri-fold smartphone can measure between 9.9 and 10 inches when unfolded. So that means that users will be able to carry around a tablet but in a compact form.

Samsung has been working on strengthening its position in the foldable market for a while now and with the tri-fold it hopes to do the same. If media reports are to be believed, the device will debut in Q3 2025 alongside other foldable models, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and Z Flip 7 FE. Production for the same can begin in Q2 2025, with an initial limited batch of 200,000 units. Its wider availability can depend on market reception.
