Coolpad Note 3S and Mega 3 are successors to company's Note 3 and Mega 2.5D smartphones launched last year

Coolpad has announced the launch of Note 3S and Mega 3 budget smartphones in India. Coolpad Note 3S and Mega 3 are successors to company's Note 3 and Mega 2.5D smartphones launched last year.

Coolpad announced Note 3 last year and followed up with Note 3 Lite and Note 3 Plus in the interim. Coolpad Note 3S, on the other hand moves from MediaTek to Qualcomm processor. Coolpad Note 3S is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 415 processor aided by 3GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage.

The smartphone continues to offer 5.5-inch HD display, which should be a bumper considering Lenovo K6 Power and Redmi Note 3 offer full HD displays. The smartphone is 8.6mm thick and weighs 167 grams. There is a 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 5MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture and fixed focus.

Coolpad Note 3S houses a 2500mAh battery which again is not in the league of Lenovo K6 Power or Xiaomi Redmi Note 3. The smartphone will be available in Gold and White colour variants.

Coolpad Mega 3 is the latest selfie-centric smartphone from the Chinese smartphone maker. The device has a new curved back and is made of titanium aluminium alloy unlike Mega 2.5D last year. The device features a 5.5-inch 720p HD display and has a screen-to-body ratio of 73.5 percent. Coolpad Mega 3 offers three SIM slot and also offers a slot for microSD card.

Powering Coolpad Mega 3 is a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor clocked at 1.25GHz. The smartphone comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB expandable storage. The smartphone features an 8MP camera at the front and back. The front camera offers wider 80.1 degree field of view. The smartphone is backed by a 3050mAh battery.

Coolpad Note 3S and Mega 3 run Cool UI 8.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and support 4G LTE. The smartphones are priced at Rs 9,999 and 6,999 respectively and will be available exclusively on Amazon India from December 7.
