Blackberry 10.3.1 update starts rolling out to Blackberry 10 devices
Blackberry 10.3.1 update brings Blackberry Assistant, Amazon App Store, and more to Blackberry 10 smartphones.
Blackberry has announced the ver. 10.3.1 update for BlackBerry 10 smartphones including the BlackBerry Z30, Z3, Z10, Passport, Q10, Q5, and the Porsche Design P’9983 and P’9982 smartphones.
10.3.1 is the company's first major update since ver.10.2.1 last year and brings a whole new range of features and enhancements for Blackberry 10 users. It brings BlackBerry Blend which seamlessly connects your Blackberry to your computer or tablet, so you access your messages, mails and documents across different devices and platforms.
Users will also be able to get access to BlackBerry Assistant which uses voice and text commands to access emails, messages, set up meetings, etc. The update brings Instant Actions to BlackBerry Hub that allows you to quickly organize and action your inbox without having to go through each individual message.
Apart from Blackberry World, now the Amazon Appstore will come preinstalled on Blackberry 10, so users will have access to thousands of new games and apps. The Camera has got new features including automatic recommendations and an enhanced Time Shift mode. Users will now be able to capture images and record images at the same time.
Blackberry Meetings have been added to the latest OS update. It comes with a new meeting mode that will turn off notifications and set your phone to quiet mode during meetings. The update also brings keyboard shortcuts to Blackberry 10 devices. Blackberry has also added a Your Power Saving Profile which according to the company improves your smartphones battery life up to 15%.
The update has started rolling out in Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa for the entire range of BlackBerry 10 smartphones. The company's latest handset, the Blackberry Classic comes preloaded with the software.
