Asus Zenfone V features a design similar to Zenfone 3 series and will be Verizon exclusive. There is no word yet on its pricing or availability just yet.

Asus has announced the launch of Zenfone V, a Verizon-exclusive smartphone in the US. The handset is a not a rebranded version of company's existing handsets but a new device with model number V520KL. With the launch of Zenfone V, Asus is probably tapping into the US market, which continues to lead the smartphone segment.

Asus Zenfone V features a 5.2-inch Full HD AMOLED display protected by Corning's Gorilla Glass on top. The display offers 178 degree wide-viewing angle and is one of the few handsets to sport an AMOLED display. The Zenfone V is powered by a relatively older Snapdragon 820 chipset coupled with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage further expandable up to 256GB via microSD card slot.

It offers a 23MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, optical image stabilisation, 4K video recording and dual-LED flash. There is also an 8MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture and panorama selfie mode for those concerned about selfies.

The handset seems to offer a design similar to last year's Zenfone 3 series and even features match that of ZenFone 3 Deluxe. Other key specifications include a 3000mAh battery and use of USB Type-C port. The Zenfone V supports WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and 3.5mm audio jack. The smartphone runs ZenUI 3.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat. There is no word on official pricing or availability just yet but it should be announced very soon by Verizon.
