Apple’s ultra-thin iPhone Air created quite a stir when it launched earlier this year, offering a sleek design. Now, even before the dust has settled, the leaks around the next-gen iPhone Air 2 have already started doing the rounds on the internet. Apple is tipped to be working on the second-generation iPhone Air, with a massive upgrade over its predecessor. The device is rumoured to feature a dual-camera setup and a display of a similar size to its predecessor.

Though the brand is yet to reveal anything about the rumoured device, it could debut in 2026. Here’s everything we know so far about the iPhone Air 2.
The latest leak from Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station suggests that Apple is testing a dual rear camera setup for the iPhone Air 2, comprising a 48MP Fusion Main sensor and a 48MP Fusion Ultra-Wide lens. However, the iPhone Air 2 will reportedly retain a horizontal camera alignment, unlike the vertical layout on recent iPhones. Additionally, the device is expected to feature the same 6.5-inch display.
However, given the ultra-slim design, adding another camera may require a substantial internal redesign. Apple’s biggest challenge could be integrating the dual setup without increasing the phone’s thickness.
Industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts the iPhone Air 2 could launch in late 2026, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro lineup and Apple’s first foldable iPhone. However, reports suggest that the original iPhone Air hasn’t seen the expected sales momentum, raising questions about the future of the series.
