Apple iPhone 18 Pro leaks hint at transparent back, new A20 Pro chip and more upgrades: Here’s what we know
iPhone 18 Pro tipped to debut with A20 Pro chip and in-house C2 modem.
Rumours hint at a slightly transparent Ceramic Shield back and upgraded vapor cooling.
Smaller Dynamic Island expected, but under-display Face ID may still be missing.
It’s only been a few days since Apple unveiled its latest iPhone 17 series, including the new ultra-slim Air, and rumours about the iPhone 18 series have already surfaced online. According to reports, the iPhone 18 Pro could have a similar design but with some subtle improvements and significant hardware upgrades.
SurveyAccording to a reliable tipster, Digital Chat Station, the iPhone 18 Pro series will have the same design as the iPhone 17 Pro, with a new rectangular camera island and triple camera setup. The display size is also expected to remain the same, with a 6.3-inch Super Retina display for the iPhone 18 Pro and a 6.9-inch display for the iPhone 18 Pro Max.
But next year, we may get to see a ‘slightly transparent’ Ceramic Shield back. However, the specifics about the device remains unknown. Another leak suggests the company may add a stainless steel vapor cooling chamber, an upgrade over the laser welded chamber, used in the iPhone 17 Pro models.
For performance, we may get to see yet another upgrade. The Taiwan Commercial Times report claims that the iPhone 18 Pro could debut with an A20 Pro chip, built on TSMC’s cutting-edge 2nm process, along with the company’s in-house C2 modem.

Other add-ons may include a smaller Dynamic Island. But the report suggests that the under-display Face ID will not make its debut next year as well. However, these are all just early leaks, and the launch is potentially a year away. So, there are chances that Apple may change the strategy and may offer some interesting upgrades over the iPhone 17 series. Next year is Apple’s 20th anniversary, and the rumours suggest that Apple may go all-glass with the upcoming lineup. So, let’s see what will debut.
