Apple iPhone 17 Air may launch this year and here are 5 things we might see

Apple will reportedly launch the iPhone 17 Air this year alongside the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The rumoured handset is said to replace the Plus-sized model in the upcoming lineup. While there are no official confirmation on the same, reports have been giving us insight on what to expect from the iPhone 17 Air. The smartphone is expected to be the thinnest iPhone ever. It is also said to be thinner than the newly debuted Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.

The iPhone 17 Air is still months from its official debut; here are five anticipated features of the smartphone that we know.

iPhone 17 Air thickness

First things first, the rumoured iPhone 17 Air has been making headlines months before its debut for its ultra-thin frame, which will reportedly measure 5.5mm. This also makes the smartphone thinner than the Galaxy S25 Edge, which has a 5.8mm thickness. Nevertheless, the phone may weigh 145g.

iPhone 17 Air battery

The handset is said to come with a smaller 2,800 mAh battery, almost similar to the iPhone 12’s 2,815mAh battery. While this may sound disheartening, Apple may use high-density silicon-anode battery cells that could improve the actual battery capacity by 15 per cent to 20 per cent. Additionally, the tech giant will reportedly bring a phone case-like accessory to address the battery life problem.

iPhone 17 Air display

Based on leaks and rumours, the iPhone 17 Air may get a 6.6-inch ProMotion display with a 120Hz refresh rate – a much-awaited upgrade for non-Pro models.

iPhone 17 Air camera

To incorporate the smartphone’s slim profile, Apple is likely to drop a few features from the iPhone 17 Air, including a camera sensor. While non-Pro iPhones ship with a dual rear camera setup, the Air model is rumoured to get a single 48-megapixel sensor on the back. On the front, it is likely to house a 24-megapixel camera, similar to its other siblings in the lineup.

iPhone 17 Air processor and other details

The handset is likely to be backed by the Apple A19 chipset for performance. Apart from these, the smartphone may come with a single speaker and eSIM-only support.

These are just rumours and speculations, nothing has been confirmed officially as of now.
