South Korean tech giant Samsung is gearing up to launch its flagship Galaxy S25 series soon. As per Samsung’s timeline, the smartphones are not expected before January 2025. But as is the case with all the phones, rumours are already building a narrative about what to expect. Previously rumours suggested that Samsung will go ahead with its dual-chip approach this time too. However, fresh rumours suggest that this time the entire Samsung Galaxy S25 series could feature a single chipset.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 series can feature three smartphones: vanilla Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. As per recent rumours, the entire S25 lineup can be powered exclusively by Snapdragon’s latest 8 Elite chipset. With this Samsung is reportedly moving away from its dual-chip approach of Snapdragon and Exynos models. Tipster Ice Universe took to X (formerly Twitter) to share this. He said that the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra will all launch globally with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, regardless of the market.
Traditionally we have seen that the South Korean tech giant launches its flagship devices in two chipset variations, depending on the region. The current Galaxy S24 series features both Snapdragon and Exynos chipsets. However, Galaxy S24 Ultra launched with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in all regions. This move might align with user feedback who have mostly preferred the Snapdragon versions over Exynos, so a unified Snapdragon chipset strategy may be well-received by consumers.
Some previous leaks also suggested that Samsung can use the MediaTek chipsets in the Galaxy S25 lineup or use Exynos in certain markets, but this one changes that. So let’s take this news with a pinch of salt until the launch which will most likely happen in January 2025.
