According to industry sources, "Honor 10" -- that was recently launched in China -- would be launched globally.

Huawei's sub-brand Honor, which has been working on their second generation Artificial Intelligence (AI) 2018 flagship device, is expected to launch "Honor 10" smartphone in London on May 15. According to industry sources, "Honor 10" — that was recently launched in China — would be launched globally. An answer to OnePlus 6, the sub-40,000 category device is likely to come to India in late May.

The device would be available on Flipkart in direct comparison with OnePlus 6 that might be launched as Amazon exclusive, according to sources. Honor is also working on new dual-camera and consumer-centric innovation.

Recently, the company rolled out 'Face Unlock' feature for Honor 9 Lite and Honor 7X smartphones. It also launched "Ride Mode" feature via HOTA update (Huawei Over The Air) exclusively for its Honor 9 Lite smartphone in India.

The Honor 10 was announced in China earlier this month. The Honor 10 also an iPhone-X like notch on top of its display and comes with ‘advanced’ AI 2.0 capabilities. The smartphone will go on sale in China on April 27 and the company has also tweeted out that it will be globally launched on May 15. The Honor 10 will come in Magic Night Black, Grey Gull, Mirage Blue and Mirage Purple Twilight colour variants, which were previously seen on the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro. Its 6GB RAM and 64GB storage model is priced at CNY 2,599 (Rs 27,300 approx), whereas the 6GB/ 128GB ROM variant costs and CNY 2,999 (Rs 31,500). 

Coming to the hardware, the Honor 10 is powered by an Octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC, paired with 6GB RAM. It features a 5.84-inch full HD+ LCD display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and runs on EMUI 8.1, based upon Android 8.1 Oreo. The 16MP + 24MP camera dual rear cameras are placed horizontally on the rear and come with a f/1.8 aperture and an LED flash. On the front, it comes with a 24MP sensor. 

As mentioned earlier, the smartphone comes with AI 2.0 features, which is mainly used for processing the captured images and the phone sports an AI camera branding on the rear to emphasise this. Honor says that the phone can capture and process better images and uses AI-based capabilities, which allows a user to shoot enhanced portrait selfies. It is also said to detect faces better in the image gallery for grouping photos. 

The Honor 10 is powered by a 3400mAh battery with quick charging support, which is said to take only 25 minutes for charging the device up to 50 percent. The handset comes with a 3.5mm audio jack and for a better audio experience, is equipped with a 7.1 multi-channel Hi-Fi audio chip with support for 7-channel sound effects.
