Homegrown tech giant Zoho is working on Zoho Pay, a new UPI-based payments app. Currently in internal testing, the app will see a phased rollout across India in the coming months. Interestingly, Zoho Pay will also be integrated into Zoho’s messaging platform, Arattai, allowing users to send and receive money directly through chat. With Zoho Pay, the company aims to take on established players like Google Pay, PhonePe, and Paytm.

Zoho Pay will offer several payment options, including UPI, cards, net banking, and Banking Connect. Users can even collect recurring payments through UPI, making it ideal for subscription-based services.

The app also provides multiple ways to accept payments, through invoice emails, payment links, dedicated payment pages, or client portals, allowing customers to choose how they pay. For businesses managing large transaction volumes, Zoho Pay will let users track chargebacks, respond to them, and submit evidence all in one dashboard.

Additionally, Zoho Pay promises faster settlements without any hidden charges, ensuring uninterrupted cash flow. Merchants can access customisable reports covering everything from transaction histories and refunds to payment failures and account summaries.

Furthermore, businesses already using tools like Zoho Books, Zoho CRM, or Zoho Invoice can seamlessly collect payments within those platforms. For others, Zoho offers simple API integration to embed payments directly into their websites.

Zoho Pay transaction fee

On Zoho Pay, UPI payments incur a 0.5% platform fee, while card, net banking, and RuPay transactions incur a 2% platform fee. For bank transfers, it’s either 1% or Rs 10, whichever is lower. Transactions made through corporate credit cards will incur a 2.75% fee.

All platform fees are deducted before the final settlement is deposited into the user’s bank account, keeping the process clean and predictable.
