Spotify down: Music streaming app facing disruption, company yet to respond
Spotify down: Streaming problems were reported across the United States on Wednesday evening. Many users said they could not play music or use important features on Spotify. The issue mainly affected people who stream music online instead of listening to downloaded songs. Complaints started around 7:00 PM, and users shared reports on outage-tracking websites. The company has not yet confirmed the problem, explained what caused it, or said when the service will be fully fixed.
SurveyData from Downdetector shows that most reports were about trouble connecting to Spotify’s servers. About 15 per cent of users said they could not connect to the servers. Another 23 per cent had problems using audio streaming features, and 55 per cent said the app was not working properly.

Around 17 per cent of complaints were about server connection problems. Even though the numbers were lower than in the United States, the type of issues was quite similar, especially with how the app was working.
What did Spotify say?
Spotify has not yet said anything about the problem. The company usually reports such issues on its official support pages, but right now the exact reason is not clear. Problems like this often happen because of too much load on servers or technical glitches, but we are still waiting for confirmation.
