Samsung and Elon Musk appear to be strengthening their partnership even further. According to a new report, Samsung Foundry is in talks to manufacture chips for xAI, the artificial intelligence company founded by Musk that develops the Grok chatbot. A tipster named Jukan shared the information on X (formerly known as Twitter), claiming that Samsung Foundry has finalised a contract with xAI. While exact details of the deal were not revealed by the tipster, SamMobile reports that Samsung will produce chips used in xAI’s AI accelerators.

xAI is said to have ordered three EUV tools for its chip manufacturing plant in Taylor, Texas. EUV tools are among the most advanced machines needed to make semiconductor chips.

This possible deal with xAI shows the growing relationship between Samsung and Elon Musk. A few months back, Samsung signed an agreement to manufacture the AI6 chip for Tesla, another Musk-led company. Not long after that, the two companies also agreed that Samsung would produce Tesla’s AI5 chip. With xAI potentially becoming a new customer, Samsung Foundry seems to be getting a better chance to compete with its biggest rival, TSMC.

Meanwhile, the tech giant recently introduced its latest flagship mobile processor, the Exynos 2600. The Exynos 2600 processor is the world’s first chip built on a 2nm process with advanced GAA (Gate-All-Around) technology. Also, this chip is expected to power the upcoming Samsung S26 series, which is said to include the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, Galaxy S26 Plus and Galaxy S26.
