Hence, the government of India recommends that we should update the Aadhaar details every 10 years to keep information accurate and up-to-date. For this, UIDAI is currently allowing citizens to update their Aadhaar cards for free until September 14.

If you wish to update your Aadhaar details, then you should do it now as this deadline has been extended multiple times and we don’t know if it will be extended again. Otherwise, you have to pay a fee of Rs 50.

How to update Aadhaar details online for free?

Follow these steps to update your Aadhar online for free:

  1. Visit the official UIDAI website and go to the Aadhaar Self-Service Portal at https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.
  2. Log in using your Aadhaar number and the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
  3. Check all the details carefully.
  4. If updates are needed, select the appropriate document type and upload a scanned copy in JPEG, PNG, or PDF format (under 2 MB).
  5. After submission, you will receive a Service Request Number (SRN) to track your request.

Other than this, if you wish to change other details like biometrics and details like name, mobile number, and photograph, then you can’t do that online. For this, you will have to book an appointment and visit a UIDAI-authorised centre.
