Delhi emerges as the top shopaholic city: Snapdeal survey
Delhi tops the list of cities for maximum shopping for fashion products during this festive season
Online marketplace Snapdeal has released a new survey on the festive fashion shopping trends in various parts of the country. The survey features facts such as average purchase value by customers and tier-wise sales percentage. It also identifies the fashion hotspots of the country and categorises the top selling product categories for men and women.
The trends are based on the sales data for fashion product categories from Snapdeal.com in the month of October 2013.
Delhi leads the ratings as far as maximum shopping for fashion products during the festive season is concerned and ethnic wear tops the charts when it comes to most shopped products specifically sarees.
Amit Maheshwari, VP -Fashion elaborates, “Observing the high demand for shopping online during the festive season, we realised that this would be the perfect time to base our survey. The results are not only perceptive but also give you a deep understanding of consumer purchasing patterns across geographies within the country.”
Some of the key findings of the survey are as follows:
Metros topped the charts with the maximum sales (36%) coming from the metros this festive season followed by Tier 1 cities at 26%, Tier 2 cities at 23% and Tier 3 cities at 15%. The overall average purchase value by customers across the country on Snapdeal.com is Rs 1250.
The survey further shortlists the fashion hotspots of the country basis the sales coming from these cities this festive season. Delhi topped the charts followed by Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Mumbai and Kolkata.
