Claude down: Users unable to use Anthropic AI chatbot, company yet to respond

Claude down: Anthropic’s AI chatbot Claude is currently facing an outage globally, including in India. On Downdetector, an online outage monitoring platform, more than 200 users in India have reported problems with the AI service. Most users, around 46 per cent, say they are struggling to use Claude Chat, while 40 per cent report issues with the website. The remaining 15 per cent reported facing issues with the app.

According to Downdetector, the reports of the outage started appearing at around 12:30 PM in India and peaked around at 2:40 PM. As expected, frustrated users head to X (formerly Twitter) to share their experiences and look out for updates. While one user posted, ‘Claude is down and ChatGPT is too dumb for the task and Gemini interface sucks. What should I do,’ another wrote, ‘Working on a really good project without using AI at all…One bug shows up and I finally decide to use Claude and Claude goes down.’

The company is yet to share an official statement regarding the outage. For now, Claude users will just have to wait for Anthropic to identify the issue and fix it.
