Anthropic’s popular AI chatbot, Claude, is experiencing an outage, leaving thousands of users unable to access the service. On Downdetector, an online outage monitoring platform, more than 1,200 reports have been logged so far. Most users, around 84 percent, say they are struggling to use Claude Chat, while 11 per cent report issues with Claude Code. Another 5 per cent are unable to properly load or access the Claude website.
SurveyAccording to Downdetector, reports of the outage began appearing at around 12:05 AM EST, which is 10:35 AM in India. Soon after, social media platform X (formerly Twitter) was flooded with posts from frustrated users sharing their experiences. One user joked, “Claude’s down so I guess I can go to bed by 10 for the first time in 8 months”, while another expressed their irritation, writing, “#claude is down again. Hundreds of reports in the net. #anthropic on the status website: everything okay. I can’t stand it any longer. Trouble every day. Literally every day.”
Anthropic has not yet issued any official statement about the disruption. The company usually shares maintenance updates or outage notices through its status page, but as of the time of writing, no such update has been posted.

For now, Claude users will have to wait for Anthropic to identify the issue and restore the service. Until then, the outage continues to affect users.
