ChatGPT down: Thousands of users facing issues with OpenAI’s AI chatbot

ChatGPT down: OpenAI’s popular AI chatbot ChatGPT is currently facing a massive outage globally, including in India. On Downdetector, an online outage monitoring platform, more than 4,300 users in the US have reported problems with the AI platform. Meanwhile, around 470 reports have been logged in India so far. Most users, around 85 per cent, say they are struggling to use ChatGPT in general, while 6 per cent report issues with the login. The remaining 6 per cent reported facing issues with the website.

According to Downdetector, the reports of the outage started appearing at around 8:10 AM and the numbers have been increasing since then. As expected, frustrated users head to X (formerly Twitter) to share their experiences and look out for updates. While one user posted, “I can’t make a picture bcz chatgpt is down!,” another wrote, “Is ChatGPT down? I can get to the site but none of my conversations load and says ‘too many concurrent connections’.”

OpenAI has acknowledged the issue on its status page, confirming that some users may experience problems with conversations. The company said it has already implemented mitigation measures and is currently monitoring the recovery. So, for now, ChatGPT users will just have to wait for OpenAI to fix the issue.
