Apple will launch iPad mini 7 later this year, says report
HIGHLIGHTS

Apple is reportedly planning to launch iPad mini 7 later this year.

The leaker "ShrimpApplePro" last month claimed that a seventh-generation iPad mini was in the works.

However, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently stated that he does not anticipate any new iPad models this year.

Apple is reportedly planning to launch a seventh-generation iPad mini before the end of the year. The information was obtained by suppliers who manufacture parts for iPhones and other Apple products.

In an article about stagnant global tablet demand in the second half of 2023, DigiTimes predicted an increase in Apple’s share of the market due to orders for a “small-size” iPad in the fourth quarter, reports MacRumors.

“In the second quarter, iPad shipments had a sequential decline higher than those of non-iPad tablets, resulting in iPads’ combined shipment share seeing two consecutive quarters of decline. However, the share will gradually pick up during the second half because of Apple’s inventory replenishment needs in the third quarter and orders for a new small-size iPad in the fourth quarter, the figures show,” DigiTimes wrote.

The Taiwan-based outlet obtains its information from the suppliers who manufacture parts for iPhones and other Apple products. Its sources frequently offer accurate information, but the site’s track record when it comes to analysing that information and precisely determining Apple’s plans is mixed.

When it comes to rumours, it is usually preferable to take information on the website with a grain of salt until it has been verified by other sources.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman stated earlier this year that a tiny “spec bump” for the iPad Mini was possible. The “ShrimpApplePro” leaker also claimed last month that Apple was developing a seventh-generation iPad mini and that they had proof that at least one new iPad model would be released this year.

The seventh-generation iPad mini, however, is most likely to start mass production in the first quarter of 2024, according to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who also recently stated that he does not anticipate any new iPad models this year.
