The updated Siri is expected to be included in iOS 26.4, which will likely enter beta testing in February before being released to users in March or early April. The update is said to be limited to newer hardware, with support expected for iPhone 15 Pro models and up.
According to reports, this version of Siri will focus on deeper personalisation, allowing the assistant to understand and respond to a user’s personal data and screen activity. Apple has previously stated that Siri will be able to use context from apps like Mail and Messages to complete tasks more intelligently, such as checking travel details or calendar plans, without users having to spell out each step.
Apple first teased this Siri vision at WWDC 2024, but the rollout was delayed due to internal issues. According to the report, development challenges prompted Apple to incorporate Google’s Gemini technology into its own Apple Intelligence framework, resulting in faster progress. While Gemini’s capabilities will power some aspects of the experience, the assistant will still run on Apple’s AI architecture.
iOS 27 will be even better
Multiple reports also claim that iOS 27 will be Apple’s next step towards AI. With the upcoming update, the iPhone maker is reportedly aiming to turn Siri into a full-fledged conversation chatbot with capabilities of sustained back-and-forth interactions, similar to ChatGPT or Google’s Gemini.
If the timeline holds, Apple’s long-awaited Siri revamp could finally begin reaching users in the coming months. However, the exact timeline still remains under wraps.
