One of the biggest changes in iOS 26.6 happens behind the scenes. Apple has improved the iPhone’s Spotlight index before the release of iOS 27. The next version of iOS will bring major upgrades to Spotlight and Siri.
The update also adds a new message for users who reach the limit of blocked contacts. If the limit is reached, iPhone users will now see a “Blocked Contacts Limit Reached” alert.
Furthermore, iOS 26.6 includes important security updates and bug fixes. During the beta testing period, developers also found code for a new anti-snatching feature, reports 9To5Mac. The feature is designed to lock an unlocked iPhone automatically if it detects that the device has been suddenly taken away. However, this feature has not been enabled in the current update and may arrive in a future release.
