Apple hosted its Awe Dropping event last night, where it unveiled the much-awaited iPhone 17 series along with other new hardware. The iPhone 17 lineup brings notable improvements in design, display, camera and performance. Well, on the software end, there’s some good news as well: The iOS 26 update will be released next week.

The update was first previewed back in June during WWDC and has since gone through months of beta testing. Apple has now set the official release date for Monday, September 15, when iOS 26 will begin rolling out to supported iPhones. Here’s everything you need to know.
iOS 26 introduces a translucent Liquid Glass design. It also adds on-device smart summaries, updates to Genmoji, Live Translation and contextual visual actions. The update also includes Call and Message Screening, and an upgrade to CarPlay with Live Activities and CarPlay Ultra. Native apps, such as Apple Wallet, Music, Maps, and Apple Pay, will also receive improvements. Another highlight is a new Games app, which will organise gaming content in one place.
