In another interesting move, Apple dropped the iPhone 17 Plus and introduced the iPhone Air, the company’s slimmest smartphone to date. The device has an ultra-slim form factor, measuring under 6mm in terms of thickness. It has promising on-paper specifications, implying that the device could be a strong competitor to the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. However, it has a single camera setup but a 120Hz ProMotion display and an A19 Pro chipset.

The Apple iPhone Air comes with a 6.5-inch OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and ProMotion tech. It also offers an always-on display along with up to 3000 nits peak outdoor brightness. The device gets a Titanium+ glass body and is powered by the A19 chipset. It features an A19 chipset and offers 12GB RAM. Apple has not mentioned anything about the battery at the moment, but it does offer MagSafe charging. The device runs on iOS 26. It also gets an Action Button, Camera Control button along with USB-C charging.
In the camera department, Apple has offered a 48MP Fusion camera. For selfies and video calls, the device features a 18MP front camera. The device offers 2x optical zoom and 4K video recording. It also gets the Apple C1x modem, the company’s fastest in-house, custom cellular modem chip, designed to manage mobile network communications.

The iPhone Air measures just 5.6mm in thickness and weighs around 165 grams, making it Apple’s slimmest and one of its lightest smartphones yet. On the back, it features a pill-shaped camera island with the flash positioned on the right. The design has been refined with flatter edges, slimmer bezels, and vibrant colour options, giving it a more modern look. For durability, Apple has equipped the phone with Ceramic Shield 2 protection on the front, while the frame is crafted from titanium for added strength without extra weight.

The iPhone Air arrives in Space Black, Cloud White, Light Gold, and Sky Blue, starting at Rs 1,19,900 for the 256GB model. Buyers can also opt for 512GB and 1TB storage variants.
