According to Bloomberg, Apple is adjusting its approach to allow for more frequent releases and avoid delays that might come with the pressure of releasing everything at once.

This shift toward a more staggered release schedule gives Apple the flexibility to refine its products and avoid software delays. Some hardware, such as the Apple Watch Ultra and iPhone SE, may now follow a two-year refresh cycle instead of being updated annually.
