After Vision Pro, Apple is now rumoured to enter Smart Glasses market to take on Meta

Apple seems to be spreading its wings to other devices, and this time it seems to be exploring the idea of bringing its own smart glasses to the market. This can directly compete with the likes of the Ray-Ban Meta glasses. As per Apple analyst Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, Apple is currently conducting an internal survey which is being headed by Apple’s Product Systems Quality team. The company plans to gather some data with this that will help in getting a better product out in the market.

✅ Thank you for completing the survey!

The internal survey invites employees to come and participate in a study evaluating existing smart glasses in the market. Focus groups are an essential step in Apple’s product development process. The volunteers are asked to give in their inputs which Apple then uses to assess interest and identify key features while keeping future projects under wraps.

This is one of the initial steps in Apple’s product development process. So the glasses seem to be a couple of years away. As I said earlier, we can expect a product very similar to Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses. They can feature a camera and AI capabilities for real-world contextual information. With Apple, we might also get to see Siri integration with these glasses that could allow users to perform hands-free tasks, as well as speakers for music playback and potential health-tracking features.

Rumours also suggest that these glasses could offer an advanced wearable experience, and can serve as an upgrade to Apple’s popular AirPods. So the Cupertino-based tech giant can add on to its wearable line with these upcoming glasses without completely stepping into augmented reality. Reports as it is suggested that Apple is facing technical and financial obstacles in developing fully functional AR glasses. So this can be an interim solution.
