Delight for PES fanatics as Seabass and folks at Konami have announced Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 for the Xbox 360, PS3, Windows PC and PSP.

The latest avatar in the series will be powered by the next-gen Fox Engine.“The team have extended and enhanced Fox Engine to match the bespoke and complex demands of a football title,” says Konami in an official statement.

PES productions have re-worked on every element of game-play, setting a benchmark for the next gen football simulation. In addition to improved graphics and fine animation, the new game engine will guarantee a whole new football experience played on a home entertainment system.

The new PES 2104 will feature what is known as "TrueBall Tech," for the first time in football simulation. It centers everything around the ball. Thus, players have total control when determining their body angle to receive the pass. It means that the ball can be chested or flicked passed an opponent, nodded into space or on to a team-mate. The close control dribbling adds a much more personal attribute to the game. The characteristic feature of the PES series has been the ball being treated as an individual entity, allowing huge amount of freedom to pass the ball into space, producing short triangular passes to make space. With the 'TrueBall Tech ' feature, it allows even more freedom to work around the ball, unlike any other football simulation. Eventually resulting in a full 360-degree control, in addition to steering the ball with devious and intricate movements.

The game will also imbibe the Motion Animation Stability System (M.A.S.S). It is designed to present more visually realistic player collision behaviour and tackles. It acts on a situation depending upon the direction and the force with which a player is tackled. Factors such as size and power would determine the impact with which a player would respond to a tackle or a shove. It ensures that the players and the ball responds in the same way as it would in a real life situation.

The PES 2014 will feature mental attributes in addition player style and skills. The mental statistics of a player will have direct impact on a player's performance bringing in a more emotional feel to the game. These mental attributes can have an impact on a player's performance and can adversely affect a player's performance particularly while having a bad game. On the contrary, moments of individual flair and brilliance can propel a positive response on team mates.

The game will set a new benchmark of realism with inclusion of the Player ID system, where users can recognize a player with recreated running and play styles. The movement of the players will be exactly the same as their real life counterparts.

The PES 2014 will for the first time introduce the recently signed Asia Champions League. The game will also retain exclusive rights of the UEFA champions league club competition with other tournaments expected to be announced very soon.

The latest announcement in the PES franchise can certainly give EA's FIFA a run for their money, with the introduction of the new Fox Engine and EA sports reported laying off a large chunk of their employees, we could see EA's legacy coming to an end or at least the gap between the two rival franchises narrowing down in terms of game-play and sales.

We would love to hear from you football fanatics out there, feel free to express your opinions in the comments section below.
