This decade’s most hyped game, Grand Theft Auto VI, aka GTA 6, has seen numerous delays ever since the original announcement. However, that hasn’t stopped fans even one bit. Many are still as excited as before, just to see what Rockstar is going to cook up this time. While it’s been some time since we heard from the makers, there are a ton of other new details we have learned about the game.

GTA 6 release date

First off, let’s start with the release date for GTA 6. In one of their most recent announcements, Rockstar has said that the game will be coming out on November 19th, 2026. While the game was originally supposed to come out in May 2026 and then another delay hit later.

Recently, Rockstar North studios was hit with an unfortunate fire incident. Thankfully, everyone was safe; however, many wondered whether that could cause another delay to the game. But Rockstar cleared everyone’s confusion, as the makers confirmed that their studio remains operational and work on the game is going on as usual. So we should not expect yet another delay post.

GTA 6 trailer 3

Rockstar released trailer 2 for GTA 6, back in 2025, and they shared a ton of details with it. Ever since then, fans have been waiting for another trailer drop before the game eventually comes out. While there is no definitive timeline as to when the trailer could drop, given that Rockstar is always secretive with their announcements.

However, many leaks suggest that trailer 3 will likely be released sometime around Spring this year, meaning it will come around somewhere around March and May. This time around, the trailer is expected to show off new gameplay mechanics, other characters and more details about the story. Along with that, Rockstar will likely reveal the pre-order details for the game too.

The maps in GTA games have always been iconic! Be it Liberty City, San Andreas or Vice City, GTA games have always showcased these cities like never before. It’s been quite some time since we saw a GTA game with Vice City, and well, Rockstar heard the fans!

GTA 6 is taking place in Vice City, in the fictional state of Leonida. Reports suggest that the map featured could almost be twice the size of GTA 5, which was already pretty huge. Speaking about the location setting of the game, Rockstar Games has previously said, ‘When the sun fades and the neon glows, everyone has something to gain — and more to lose.’

GTA 6 gameplay and story

While we’re yet to see any new gameplay footage of the upcoming game, Rockstar says that Trailer 2 featured a 50-50 split of cinematics and gameplay. Many were surprised after hearing this, as the trailer almost looked entirely cinematic. Reports suggest more gameplay could be released in the upcoming trailers.

Speaking about the story, Rockstar Games said, ‘Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.’

GTA 6 physical copies

One interesting change comes in the form of physical copies for GTA 6. Usually, when a new game comes out, retailers ship out the physical copies of the game before the release date. However, recent reports suggest that Rockstar could play this out differently to avoid leaks.

It’s no secret that GTA 6 has been prone to leaks right from the start. To avoid leaks in the near future, it is being suggested that Rockstar could skip physical copies in favour of a digital release for a short time. While Rockstar has not confirmed anything so far, if it happens, many fans would be disappointed.

GTA 6 Indian pricing

As for the pricing, while many reports claimed the game could cost upwards of $100 for the regular edition, however Rockstar has not confirmed anything so far. Keeping that in mind, so far, it is expected that in India, the standard edition of GTA 6 could be priced at around Rs 5,999, while special editions could cost upwards of Rs 7,299 or more.

There have been a ton of memes regarding the development cost of GTA 6, however, no one knows the exact number. But a few analysts have suggested that, including the development and marketing budget, GTA 6 has already crossed over $1 billion. For the future, many are estimating that it could easily be reaching $1.5 billion to $2 billion by the time of its release.
