Batwara 1947 takes viewers back to the time of India’s Partition in 1947. The story centres on a Muslim family that is forced to leave its home. The family moves to a haveli in Lahore. After arriving there, they discover that an elderly Hindu woman is still living in the house. The movie is reportedly based on Asghar Wajahat’s popular play Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya, O Jamyai Nai.
