Spotify celebrates 20 years with new Your Party of the Year(s) feature: What it does and how to use it
You can revisit their first-ever stream, most-played artists and listening history.
The feature is available through the Spotify mobile app and spotify.com/20.
Spotify is also sharing its all-time most-streamed songs, artists, albums and podcasts.
It’s been 20 years of Spotify, and on this occasion, the streaming giant is allowing its users to revisit their listening history on the platform, including the first song they streamed, the day they joined Spotify, and their most-played artists over the years. This new personalised in-app feature is dubbed Your Party of the Year(s) and is rolling out to users globally, and is available via the mobile app and the anniversary webpage. Here’s everything you need to know about this.
SurveyHow to use Spotify Your Party Of the Year(s)
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to access this feature on the mobile app.
Step 1: Open the Spotify app on your phone.
Step 2: On the homescreen, you’ll see The Party of the Year(s) banner. Tap on it.
Step 3: You’ll be taken through some slides, showing the day you started using Spotify, the first song you listened to, the total number of songs you have listened to on this platform and who’s your all-time most-played artist.

Well, I have been using Spotify since 2014, the first song I listened to was Autumn Leaves by Chris Brown ft Kendrick Lamar, and the all-time most-played artist is Pritam. Interesting! I didn’t even remember the Chris Brown track and was genuinely surprised by the number of songs I have listened to: 20,386.
A sweet journey down memory lane!
You can also access the experience on Spotify’s anniversary webpage on a mobile browser. But note that the feature is designed primarily for mobile devices.
The company has also released lists of the most-streamed artists, albums, songs and podcasts in Spotify history. According to Spotify, Taylor Swift is currently the most-streamed artist on the platform, while ‘Blinding Lights’ by The Weeknd is the most-streamed song of all time on Spotify.
Spotify’s 20th year anniversary
Spotify said the anniversary experience is meant to act as a ‘personalised time capsule’. It is a feature that plays on Nostalgia like Spotify Wrapped. This is even more interesting as it shares data that was previously unavailable.

So, you can check out:
- First day on Spotify
- Total number of unique songs streamed
- First song streamed
- All-time most-streamed artist
- All-Time Top Songs Playlist including 120 tracks.
You also get a custom share card with each of these sections that can be saved or uploaded directly to social media.
Spotify launched in 2006 and has since become one of the world’s largest music streaming services. While online platforms routinely collect user data, features like this can make that information feel more meaningful to listeners. By surfacing older listening habits and first streams, Spotify is tapping into the emotional side of music discovery.
