Realme Buds Air 8: what we know so far

  • Realme Buds Air 8 will launch on January 6 at 12 PM.
  • Upon launch, the TWS earbuds will be available on Flipkart and Realme.com.
  • It is being positioned as an ‘AI-Powered Sound Master with Best-in-Class ANC’. For context, the Buds Air 7 is capable of cancelling hybrid ANC up to 52 decibels.
  • Realme is collaborating with designer Naoto Fukasawa for the Buds Air 8. The buds appear very similar to the Buds Air 7, but the case has more angular edges, and the lid looks like a mesa.
  • The buds’ listing on the Realme website shows its three colour options: gold, violet and grey.
  • Besides the design, the company is also highlighting key focus areas to be intelligent noise cancellation, adaptive sound, and clearer calls.
  • The Realme website listing reveals the buds support Hi-res wireless certification and LHDC codec support for low latency and high definition audio.

The Buds Air line has traditionally focused on offering feature-rich ANC earbuds at aggressive prices. With the Buds Air 8, Realme appears to be doubling down on AI features as a key differentiator, a trend increasingly seen across audio products in this segment.

While Realme has not yet disclosed detailed specifications such as ANC depth, driver size, or battery life, the emphasis on ‘best-in-class ANC’ suggests a step up from the previous Buds Air models.

Should you wait?

If you are planning to buy TWS earbuds with ANC in early 2026, the Realme Buds Air 8 should be worth waiting for, especially if pricing remains competitive. This is also based on the experience we have had with the Buds Air 7. Those of you already invested in the Realme ecosystem may benefit from tighter device integration and AI features tailored for everyday use.

Still, let’s wait for its pricing, which will be revealed at the launch event on January 6.
