Apparently Polaroid, the legendary maker of cameras, film, and lenses, has made a deal with RealD, a 3D technology firm, to make theatre-grade 3D glasses. According to Polaroid, the 3D glasses will provide UV protection as well...of course...

The Polaroid 3D glasses are greatly curved, which supposedly allow for a superior viewing area, and are big enough to provide space for normal prescription glasses beneath them.
