Price and availability

Specifications and features

The headline feature is the 120 hour-playback. Noise notes this runtime is in normal mode, and if you use ANC, the playback could fall up to 80 hours. If you are a frequent traveller or don’t want to charge frequently, the Airwave Max 6 could interest you. The battery life is backed by quick charging, which claims to deliver up to 15 hours of playback with a 10-minute top-up.

Under the hood, for audio, the headphones pack a coaxial dual-driver system consisting of a 40 mm primary driver and a 12 mm secondary driver. This architecture is designed to efficiently allot bass and mid frequencies to the larger driver, and treble clarity to the smaller unit.

There is also support for LDAC and Hi-Res Audio certification, which indicates compatibility with higher-resolution audio streams over Bluetooth, provided the source device also supports LDAC.

You also get up to 45db Smart Adaptive Hybrid ANC. It uses both feedforward and feedback microphones to cancel ambient sound based on the surroundings.

For calls, the Airwave Max 6 features a five-microphone array along with a dedicated wind-noise cancellation chip. And for connectivity, the new Airwave Max model features Bluetooth 6.0 support, which promises improved efficiency and more stable multi-device connectivity.

The headphones also support spatial or 3D audio, designed to create a wider soundstage for films and gaming.

At around Rs 7,000, the Airwave Max 6 competes with models such as the Sony WH-CH720N and JBL Tune 770NC. Real-world testing and reviews will tell us how good it is.
