Price and availability

The Tour ONE M3 is priced at Rs 34,999 in India and is available through JBL’s official online store, Amazon, and other retail partners in black, mocha, and blue colours. The standard Tour ONE M3, which does not include the transmitter. The one with the transmitter called the Smart Tx variant is priced at Rs 39,999 in India.

Both versions bring the same design and feature set, offering a mix of adaptive noise cancellation, spatial sound, and long battery life that puts them in the same bracket as Sony’s WH-1000XM6 and Bose’s QuietComfort Ultra headphones.

Specifications and features

At the core of the Tour ONE M3 is a new 40 mm Mica Dome driver system, which promises improved clarity and deeper bass. The headphones support high-resolution Bluetooth audio and also allow lossless wired playback through a USB-C connection and a 3.5mm jack with a built-in DAC.

You can create personal hearing profiles through JBL’s Personi-Fi 3.0 technology on the JBL Headphones app. This app also brings a 12-band equaliser and left-right balance adjustment.

However, the most notable additions is the JBL Smart Tx, a touchscreen wireless transmitter that connects to any USB-C or analogue audio source—like in-flight entertainment systems, PCs, or older televisions—and transmits lossless audio directly to the headphones. It uses a proprietary low-latency wireless protocol for improved stability and call performance, while also allowing users to control playback, EQ, and calls directly from the transmitter. JBL says the Smart Tx can even broadcast to multiple Auracast-enabled devices, allowing group listening from a single source.

The Tour ONE M3 also introduces JBL Spatial 360 with head tracking, which simulates an immersive, cinema-hall-like sound field. The feature uses sensors to anchor audio in space, so sound sources remain fixed even as the listener moves their head. It’s best experienced with movie and gaming content but could also add depth to music playback.

Complementing this is JBL’s True Adaptive Noise Cancelling 2.0 system, powered by eight microphones that analyse and adjust to surrounding noise in real time. Users can also switch to Ambient Aware and TalkThru modes through the app to control how much external sound is heard. This would allow you to be aware of your surroundings even with the headphones on.

For voice clarity, the Tour ONE M3 includes four microphones with adaptive beamforming and AI noise reduction. JBL claims clear call quality even in noisy environments, and the headphones are Zoom-certified when connected via cable.

All of these features and the headphone is rated to run for 70 hours on a single charge (with ANC off). If ANC is enabled, the runtime could drop to half. In either case, there is quick charging support and a five-minute top-up could offer up to five hours of playback, making them suitable for long flights or extended work sessions.

Many of these features can be found in the likes of the Sony WH-1000XM6, Bose QuietComfort Ultra, and Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless. However, JBL’s Smart Tx transmitter gives the Tour ONE M3 a clear edge for users who want to connect to wired or legacy systems without losing the convenience of wireless audio.

Overall, the JBL Tour ONE M3 series represents one of the brand’s most ambitious headphone efforts in India. We are looking forward to testing it.
