WhatsApp will soon allow users to edit album caption: What we know

WhatsApp, the popular messaging app, is apparently working on a new feature that would allow users to edit captions for photo and video albums after they are sent. The Meta-owned instant messaging network seeks to provide a better user experience for those who frequently share images and videos with their friends. Until far, the platform has not allowed users to change captions, unlike single media messages or individual sentences.

With the latest WhatsApp beta for Android (version 2.25.3.12), the company has been spotted testing a feature that will let users edit their album captions within 15 minutes of sending them. The new feature will offer better flexibility, allowing users to quickly fix the typos, clarify context, or add any necessary information without having to delete and resend the entire album.

The WhatsApp users can expect improved communication in group chats and conversations just by preventing the confusion when a caption needs to be modified, giving the shared media files more meaningful context. Do note that the feature is currently under development and is expected to rollout in the coming weeks with the future updates.

Additionally, the instant messaging platform is also working on a variety of features out of which some are in the pipeline and some of them are already in the testing phase. Previously, WaBetaInfo reported that WhatsApp is working on a feature to add sticker photos to status updates, and it will be available in a future update.

Not only that, the platform is also working on a feature which will allow the users to open the view once media on the linked devices. The feature was previously available for Android beta users and is now rolling out for iOS testers. It may roll out for the public in coming weeks.
