Viber 3.1 update gets a new UI, improved desktop integration along with multiple new features.

Viber, has released its 3.1 update for Windows Phone 8. The new update provides improved integration with Viber Desktop and quite a few enhancements. The better integration with Viber Desktop ensures smother call transfers between Windows Phone 8 and Desktop (PC and Mac computers running Viber).

The new Viber 3.1 update adds the following features:

•Users can now select new backgrounds from an the new Background Gallery
•It has Windows Phone 8 Live Tiles, that lets you pin your favorite conversations to your Start screen and updates in real time
•The new update brings improved push notifications so you never miss a message or call
•It has a fresh new look and features improved readability and usability

“This release is squarely focused on providing a completely seamless experience for the growing community of Viber users on the Windows Phone platform. Starting with flawless call transfers and moving on to a brand new design that leverages the unique design of the Windows Phone platform, Viber for Windows Phone is now easier to use and more functional than ever before,” said Talmon Marco, CEO of Viber.

Viber had launched voice calling for the Windows Phone 8 platform earlier this year. The app allows free text and photo messaging, voice calls with HD sound and lock screen notifications. The app allows users to connect in group conversations with up to 40 people. Viber, is available for iPhone, Android, Blackberry, Symbian, Bada and Nokia S40 platforms and has more than 200 million users in 193 countries worldwide.
