The update also lets users new search filters to look for videos and photos on the network.

Twitter has updated its iOS and Android apps to make it easier for users to refine search on the social network. The new update brings new filters in search, enabling users to find exact tweets and users they are looking for. Now, users have the option to view all tweets by simply toggling between top tweets and all tweets that appear on search results.

The search filter also works with photos and videos search. “If you want to see great photos, use the new photo search filter to see Tweets with photos in a grid or list layout. To see what your friends are saying, you can filter the results to only show Tweets from the people you follow. You can even filter for videos, making it feel like you’re a part of the action on Twitter,” says the company in a blog post.

Users can use the filter to look up information about trends and events. Twitter has introduced a new trending timeline in Discover tab that reveals trends along with associated tweets. Users can also see trending TV shows and nearby events.

The update is already available out on Google Play store and Apple App store.

Twitter’s new search, especially for the videos and photos, seems to be a part of company’s strategy to focus more on media on network. Earlier this month, Twitter updated its timeline to include previews of pictures and videos from Vine.

“…Timelines on Twitter will be more visual and more engaging: previews of Twitter photos and videos from Vine will be front and center in Tweets. To see more of the photo or play the video, just tap,” Twitter had said.
