Truecaller launches ‘Truecaller Voice’ in-app VoIP calling feature for Android and iOS

Truecaller has launched a new VoIP feature which will allow users to place calls using the app and a mobile data or a Wi-Fi network. The feature is called Truecaller Voice and the company promises “high quality (HD), low latency and quick to connect audio calls” to both Android and iOS users.

A press note shared by Truecaller says that the phased Android roll-out of Truecaller Voice has started on June 10. iOS users will have to wait to get their hands on the feature and can expect it in a few weeks.

Truecaller says that its users make 180 million outgoing calls per day using the app’s in-built dialer. The Truecaller Voice shortcut will now be available to users at relevant touchpoints in the app such as call logs, SMS Inbox, contact profile and after call screen.

Commenting on the launch Rishit Jhunjhunwala, VP Product, Truecaller, said, “We are ecstatic at the launch of 'Truecaller Voice’. We have been working towards building a full communication suite for our users and voice calling is the next big step in line with this mission. Through this integration, we are looking forward to effectively provide an end-to-end communication experience, where users can call, text, chat, filter messages, block spam and even make digital payments, all in one app. We are also planning to expand this feature to iOS in a few weeks.”
