MEA launches interactive app for Android and iOS devices

Ministry of External Affairs has launched a new 'MEAindia' mobile app for Android and iOS users that offers interactive solutions to all your queries.

Want to apply for a passport, check your passport status or ask any query to  Ministry of External Affairs? Now, all this is possible on your smartphone with the ‘MEAIndia’ mobile app. The app is available for users from the Google play store and Apple iTunes store. 

Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai launched the MEAIndia app at a recent event and stated that the app provides a one-stop-shop to all you need to know. It acts as a single window source of all information related to Ministry’s citizen centric services and outreach activities.

The app offers a wide range of passport related services like locating the nearest passport office, tracking the passport application and downloading forms. Users can known more about Haj services flight and accommodation details and get information about visa and document attestation related issues.

The app has a portal where users can also pose a query directly to the external affairs minister. It gives information about Indian missions abroad option and a Parliament related section that lists all the questions raised in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. The page also has a some interesting facts about where the Prime Minister and External Affairs Minister have toured during their tenure.

The mobile offers an interactive “mobile democracy” platform through which users can post queries, or even take a quiz on India’s foreign relations. The winners will get exciting prizes and the first 100 winners will receive Rs.1,000 e-vouchers from landmark redeemable online.

Ministry of External Affairs had also launched the ‘mPassport Seva’ Android app earlier this year. The app provides complete information about all your passport queries, documentation and application status. The mPassport Seva app will be adding the facility to apply for passports via their Android phones soon.
