The sub Rs 35,000 price bracket has become quite competitive in 2026, with the majority of brands focusing on bigger batteries, brighter displays, longer software and more refined user experience rather than just raw benchmarks. OnePlus is also following a similar strategy with the launch of the Nord CE 6, a device that takes a different approach from the performance-focused Nord CE 5 that launched this year.

OnePlus Nord CE 6 vs OnePlus Nord CE 5: Price in India
The OnePlus Nord CE 6 was introduced at Rs 29,999 and after the price revision it costs Rs 33,999. After the discount, the customer can get it for around Rs 32,000. On the other hand, the Nord CE 5 was introduced at Rs 24,999. Both the devices are available on online and offline platforms.
Design
The company has also refreshed the design language with the new Nord CE 6. The phone gets a clean aesthetic with a rectangular camera module that aligns with the company’s recent phones. Overall, the device looks premium with matte finish.
On the other hand, the Nord CE 5 offers flatter design with a cylindrical camera module and a matte plastic rear panel. While practical, it is less distinctive and leaned more towards a conventional slab-like appearance.
In terms of durability, the Nord CE 5 came with an IP65 rating, whereas the Nord CE 6 raises the bar with IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K certifications.
Display
The Nord CE 6 comes with a 6.78-inch LTPS panel with a 144Hz refresh rate, slightly bigger and better than Nord CE 5’s 6.77-inch AMOLED display capped at 120Hz. In our testing, the Nord CE 6 reached a peak brightness of 2,990 nits higher than Nord CE 5’s 1,740 nits.
Both the devices support HDR10+, but the Nord CE 6 benefits from a 10-bit panel and improved visual smoothness. So, both the devices will offer a great experience if you like watching movies, web series or more.
Performance
The OnePlus Nord CE 5 is backed by MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Apex chipset paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. In our benchmarks, it achieved over 1.4 million points on AnTuTu and scored 1,315 in single-core and 3,962 in multi-core Geekbench tests. It also supports up to 144fps in BGMI.
On the other hand, the Nord CE 6 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor which offers efficiency and sustained performance. It offers 1.14 million points on AnTuTu, while Geekbench scores reached around 1,085 in single-core and 3,140 in multi-core workloads.
Interestingly, the Nord CE 5 is faster in synthetic benchmarks but everyday usage is a whole different conversation and the Nord CE 6 was smoother and responsive during heavy usage.
In terms of gaming, the Nord CE 6 caps the titles such as BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile at 90fps to better manage the thermals and consistent performance.
Software experience and support
The Nord CE 6 comes with OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16 and includes several AI-powered features such as AI Eraser, Reflection Eraser, AI Detail Boost and Circle to Search. OnePlus has also added productivity-focused enhancements including improved multitasking and file-sharing tools. Software support has improved compared to its predecessor. The Nord CE 6 is promised three years of Android updates and four years of security patches.
The Nord CE 5 launched with OxygenOS 15 and offered four Android updates alongside six years of security patches. It also introduced AI-powered tools such as AI Translate, VoiceScribe and AI Search.
Camera
The Nord CE 6 uses a 50MP primary camera along with a 2MP depth sensor and a 32MP front-facing camera. The primary sensor produces detailed images with natural colours and balanced dynamic range in daylight conditions. Low-light performance is respectable, although some softness becomes visible in challenging scenes.
The Nord CE 5 also relies on a 50MP Sony LYT-600 main sensor with optical image stabilisation paired with an 8MP ultra-wide camera. Portrait performance is reliable, while selfies maintain accurate skin tones without excessive processing.
Battery
The OnePlus Nord CE 6 comes with a 8,000 mAh battery that can easily last for two days under heavy usage which includes gaming, streaming, photography and social media. The Nord CE 5 comes with a 7,100 mAh battery and during our testing, it delivered 17 hours of runtime in the PCMark battery benchmark while still retaining 20 percent charge.
Speaking of the charging speed, both devices offer 80W fast charging. The Nord CE 6 takes roughly an hour to charge fully despite the larger battery, while the Nord CE 5 requires approximately 1 hour and 25 minutes for a full charge.
Which one makes more sense
The OnePlus Nord CE 5 remains the stronger choice for users who prioritise gaming performance, higher frame rates and longer software support. Its Dimensity 8350 Apex chipset offers good benchmark numbers and remains highly capable in demanding games.
